What is meditation and how to meditate?
We have all heard a little or a lot about meditation. We've seen pictures of monks in the lotus position and we think that meditating is too complicated, and the "promise" of being calmer doesn't sound appealing enough to try. But is it really so?
Breathing
At the heart of meditation is breathing. This vital process is underestimated by many of us, but it is what helps us achieve harmony and inner peace.
When we start breathing slowly and deeply, our body gradually goes into a different state. Every cell in our body calms itself, and at the same time it recharges and renews.
Relaxation
Another important element of meditation is relaxation of the body. Breathing helps a lot with this, but the body posture is also important for an even better effect. The better result of the exercise is guaranteed, if the body is in a more comfortable position.
It does not matter if you are meditating on a yoga mat, chair, sofa, bed or whatever. The most important thing is to feel comfortable and relax your body as much as possible.
Types of Meditation
There are many different types of meditation, but the main difference is in the direction we set our focus on:
focus on the breathing
focus on visualization
focus on a particular word / mantra
focus on our inner emotions and our perceptions of the environment
The purpose of all these exercises is one - to relax the mind and direct our energy completely in the present moment. Right here, where it is always best to be.
Benefits
Many studies prove that meditation has a positive effect on all processes in our body. And it is this overall effect on the body that is the greatest benefit of the exercise.
Because each of us is under stress, which brings tension to the body. And meditation helps us return to that calm state in which the body recovers and functions normally. And it is completely free!
If you also wish to restore the harmony in your body and achieve inner peace, just relax, focus and breathe 🧘♂️❤️🧘♀️
